My weekend

My parents hit the road for a wedding this weekend and I had a sleepover at my buddy Enzo's house and had a wonderful time. You can see photos and read more about my time at the Lenarts by reading their blog. Simply scroll down and read the post called George.

Lessons in accessorizing

Sorry folks that it's been so long between blog posts. I've tried to get mom and dad to write one for me but they seem busy, putting stuff in boxes etc. Not sure what's going on but there may be fewer blog posts for the near future. But fear not, I'm sure this will only be a temporary blip in my publishing schedule.

I've been accessorizing my handsome outfits a little more lately. My dad brought these cool bracelets home from Africa and I enjoy wearing them around and rolling them on the floor.

I'm always wanting to find out what everyone's doing, eating etc. and, of course, try some. I've taken to begging for food whenever my parents are eating or preparing it. Here I am successfully retrieving some toast.

And enjoying an stand-by favourite, strawberries.

And back to accessories, here's me in my new cowboy hat. I enjoy wearing it around the house and can even sometimes get it on my head without help. Putting on a hat usually means I'm going outside for a walk so I like to put them on and stand at the door. Just like a dog with its leash, says my dad. How else would they know I'm ready for my walk?

That's all for now. Get along lil' gorgers, get along.

Happy Birthday Grampy Pete and Great Uncle Bob!

Hello Gorgers,

A very special day indeed. Today my Grampy Pete turns 60! Too bad he doesn't drink coffee because this is the time when the free senior refills kick in isn't it?
But that's not all. Today is also my Great Uncle Bob's 50th birthday. Here are some pictures from the vault. Very special birthday greetings to both Grampy Pete and Great Uncle Bob! Lets hope no one beaks a hip celebrating.

Dad's day and a birthday!

Big day today.

First off, birthday wishes to my Aunt Karen. Like the card I sent her says, she truly has blossomed into an awkward spaz. Have a great day!

Also, happy father's day to my dad. We had a great day - homemade pancake breakfast, a walk for ice cream in the afternoon and only one small incident of me getting a ball in the face. Don't worry about it, Dad.

Extra time

I'd like to introduce you to the concept of "extra time."

It's a phenomenon in the gorge household that usually accompanies teething. I deal with the pain very well, most of the time, since I'm pretty tough that way. But sometimes I just can't sleep so I get my extra time, which means some cuddle time on the couch with my mom and dad, watching TV. After about 20 minutes, I feel better and I'm ready to go back to sleep.

I've been through a particularly rough bout of teething recently. But not to worry. I'm two molars and one front tooth richer and doin' just dandy!

BABY FIGHT.... It's ON!

Saturday was judgment day for yours truly when I met my arch-nemesis Annika for the baby smackdown of the century.

We engaged in some verbal intimidation. "What, you think you're so tough in your blue bucket hat, George? Do you? Do you?"

Then we had to take a break. It was getting too intense.

So then I just happily made my rounds of the departmental picnic, looking handsome in my uncle Braden special "There can only be one" t-shirt, which I wore special for the fight, and, yes, my blue bucket hat and my Canada shoes.

I loved the skatepark and can see skateboarding in my future.

I was pretty caked with dirt by the end of the day. I required a big bath when I got home.

Annika and I made up, of course, and rocked out in a baby drum circle, banging out some funky beats atop the plastic coolers. Rock on, Annika, rock on.

Dinner with Enzo

Last Saturday, I went to a BBQ with my buddy Enzo.

I had a great time and got to stay up late. Everywhere Enzo went, I was two steps behind.

What are we doing now, Enzo?

He let me play with all of his toys.

My favourite was this push toy that made a pretty sound as I pushed it along.

Mom and dad were pretty happy to have a built in babysitter so they could sit and chat with their friends. Amazing how well he took care of me as he's not even three yet!
