Happy Birthday Nana!
Some of us are lucky to have a birthday on March 27th. Some of us are even luckier to have a birthday on March 27th that they get to share With me! A big George Gorge Happy Birthday to my Nana Norman. Last year my parents got her me for her birthday. I feel bad for Mom and dad. It will be hard to top that.
Day 366 !!!
Hello gorgers,
Well, today was the day. The D-day of one year birthday celebrations. I started the day with my customary bottle of formula, but followed that up with some sweet blueberry pancakes. My mom even gave me a bite of some of hers which had something called "maple syrup". It may be hard to believe, but they were even better with this "maple syrup".

After breakfast I played with some of my birthday presents while the folks cleaned up and got ready to go to the zoo.
The zoo was great. we saw all kinds of animals, and lots of primates (I wonder why...).

Lunch was even better than breakfast. Have you heard about these "French Fries" ? I only had four, but man were they good. Why the hell have I been eating formula for six months?

After lunch we saw more cool animals. I especially liked the hippos. I have a book at home called "Hippos Go Berserk" although these hippos were just slightly excited.

When we got home my folks presented me with a caterpillar cake. They allowed me to have one cup cake and the rest seem to have mysteriously disappeared. I bet Dad knows where they are. Mom is pleading the fifth. To get back at them I made a considerable mess. I thought they would be mad, but they filmed the whole thing and seemed to find it amusing. After a full year of cohabitation I am still no closer to understanding the behaviour of these "parents".

4 short films about George
Day 365!
To commemorate this occasion I am pleased to debut four short films about yours truly. Each film represents three months of my first year. In an homage to the great Led Zeppelin I have titled them George I - IV. If I make a fifth I will call it Georgeaphysical Graffiti. Enjoy.

40% off last year's model
Here are some more pictures from our outlet mall trip. In a frightening lack of foresight, my parents forgot to take along my stroller and were forced to carry me all around the mall. Their arms got tired and they decided to see if they could ditch me... at 40% off!

Aunt Karen wouldn't let them so I'm still here. You can't get rid of me that easy.

Also, TOMORROW IS MY BIRTHDAY!!

Happy Easter !!! Joyeuses Pâques !!! Boldog Husveti Ünnepeket !!!
Greetings Gorgers!
Easter is here and the bunny was good to me. Even though I got lots of chocolate, I was not allowed to eat any. My Dad says he knows what to do with it, but then so does my Mom. When I last saw them they were growling at each other and slowly circling a big pile of candy.
Anyway, I opened one of my birthday gifts early and guess what? It was a really cool tonka truck that I can ride, walk behind, bang stuff on etc. Thanks Grampa and Nana Norman!

And what do you think of my pajamas? Pretty swankey, huh? Nana and Grampy Pete have obviously heard about my reputation with the ladies. Thanks also to Nana and Grampy Pete for the new car seat. It is a lot more comfortable and bigger than the old one. Now I sit upright like a big boy!
It sure came in handy yesterday when I was forced on a day long excursion to the J Crew outlet so Aunt Karen could look at a bunch of stuff and then decide she didn't like any of it. Nevertheless, it has been fun having her around this weekend. Here are some pictures of me and Aunt Karen on Easter morning.

Until next time Gorgers!

Vacuum: A Study in Pencil

Dear gorgers,
You may already be aware of my many divergent interests (yelling, spreading peas and banana in my hair, the literary works of Sandra Boynton), but few of you know about my penchant for the visual arts. Specifically, still life studies in pencil and the occasional sweet potato sculpture.
The famous German Der Blaue Reiter painter and printmaker, August Macke once said "A painter paints the appearance of things, not their objective correctness, in fact he creates new appearances of things"
This piece, titled simply "George #1: untitled" is my interpretation of the vacuum cleaner. My relationship with the vacuum cleaner is, at best, adversarial, and, at its worst, is downright hostile. I don't like it and I am pretty sure it doesn't like me. This work is intended to represent not only the underlying subtext of deep rooted loathing that permeates my relationship with that device, but also incorporates elements of chaos, apathy and sleepiness. I broke two pencils during the creative phase of this work so you can well imagine how much I hate the vacuum.
This is only my first foray into the world of art, and, seeing as how good I am at making art, I suspect you will be seeing more of it in this space in the future. The George Gorge will, in a way, become a virtual gallery for my creativity. No man is bigger than art, and no activity, except for maybe bath time, will impede my creative output.

Having an average weekend
This past weekend, I cried a little...
... rocked on my chair a little...

I also spent some more time on the slide...
... and since I'm a big boy now (almost one!), I was allowed to go down all by myself.
Woo, hoo!
In other news, I've taken my first few steps. Video to come as soon as mom and dad get it together with our little camera.

... slept a little (check out the snaggle-tooth)...
... and went to the park. We found one with swings! I almost slipped out the bottom but my mom caught me in plenty of time. I like to live on the edge.

Upwardly Mobile
Not walking yet! Still, I'm tiring out my mom, dad and nana who's been visiting me this week.
I'm moving even better than I was last week. Now I'm çruisin'. What does this mean? I can hold onto things and take steps to move around. I've been throwing my toys across the table and then moving around to get them.
I've also started clapping, especially during pat-a-cake.

And peek-a-boo... Peek-A-Boo Gorgers! I see you!
Here I am enjoying some play time with my Nana. She's been giving me lots of attention this week. We had a great time while mom and dad were out of town. I didn't even notice they were gone. When the folks are away, George and Nana will play all day!
