Journeys with George Pt. 3

Greetings gorgers! I'm about to wrap up the Ottawa portion of my journey. Tomorrow we leave my Nana and Grampa's house and head back to Parry Sound for a week at the cottage.

I've had a great week in Ottawa and had a chance to do several exciting things, along with plenty of time just hanging out at home with family. Nana, Grampa, Daddy, Mommy and I went to the Renoir exhibit at the National Art Gallery. I slept through the whole thing... not a big Renoir fan.

We also all went to the farm run by Agriculture Canada and I had my first encounter with farm life. I saw horses, cows, pigs, sheep and goats, and had a wonderful time.

I met my Aunt Karen and Aunt Meredith for the first time and had lots of time to spend with them. We celebrated Meredith's birthday and I wore a special hat, made by Karen. I've also loved seeing my Nana and Grampa again and relaxing with them. I also got a chance to hear a song over the phone from my great-Nanny Minnie.

In other exciting news, mommy successfully renewed her work visa so she will be back in the U.S. and back at work soon!

Anyway, as they say, a picture tells a thousand words so I've posted some pictures of my time here for everyone to enjoy.

Starting tomorrow, I'll be in an Internet dead-zone so you'll be without George news for about a week. But take heart, gorgers, I'll be back soon with lots of pictures and blogs. Toodles.

Birthday wishes

A belated birthday greeting goes out to my Aunt Meredith who turned 25 years old yesterday. See you this weekend Meredith and I'm looking forward to meeting you.

Also, happy birthday to Meredith's boyfriend, Hakan, who is one day younger than my aunt and turns 25 today! I believe Meredith is what you call a cradle robber.

Love you guys.

Journeys with George Pt. II

Greetings gorgers!

I am having a wonderful time in Canada. I am sorry I haven't posted as much lately, but here are some photos and stories to 'gorge' on.

This past weekend we visited Grampy Pete and Nana's cottage in Parry Sound. We had some friends come to join us and we had a fabulous time. I had a chance to meet some of my parents' friends for the very first time. I hope they liked me. Who am I kidding... of course they did!

First, I met Erik, Zoe and their son (and my new friend) Max. Later, Bernadette came to join us and cooked us all a delicious meal.

Later, I met my daddy's and my cousin Aaron. Just like all the Deane guys, I like to tease, so I got a little upset every time Aaron held me. Ha, ha.

For those who are familiar with the movie 'The Life Aquatic', my dad also had a little fun dressing me up as a member of Team Zissou.

My current stop is in Ottawa with my Nana, Grampa and Aunt Karen. I'm having a great time and will post about this leg of my journey soon so stay tuned!

Journeys with George pt. I

Hello loyal blog readers and greetings from the great white north! It's a beauty way to be!

I will be on the road for the next several weeks and although I will not be blogging as regularly as I do at home, I will be posting a special series of travel blogs entitled "Journeys with George."

After driving 1057 miles we finally made it to Port Sydney Ontario to my Grampy Pete and Nana's house. On the way we stopped and visited with many of my extended family members, but not before I visited my first Tim Horton's. Mom and Dad were very excited to be visiting Canada's national donut chain and they bought a box of something called "Timbits" which are the leftover bits from when they make the donut holes.

After Tim's we went to my Great Aunt Cathy and Great Uncle Warren's house where we visited with Cathy and my cousins Patrick, Heather and Colin and my Great Grandma. We had a great time and stayed over night and Mom and Dad had a swim in their pool.

The next day we went to my Great Uncle Dave and Great Aunt Sally's house, and even though they were away in New Brunswick, we visited with my Great Uncle Dick, my Great Aunt Nancy, my cousin Blake and my Great Nana.
After all those visits we hit the road again and it wasn't too long before we were in Port Sydney and hanging out with Nana, Grampy Pete and Sydney. Sydney and I are having a great time! He was a bit suspicious of my intentions at first, but now we are good buddies. Great Uncle Bob and my cousin Mackenzie even came for dinner Saturday night.

We will be here for a few more days resting up for the next leg of our Canadian adventure. On Friday we are going to some place called the "Cottage" where we will see Mom and Dad's friends and I will swim in a lake (whatever that is). That's all for now. Stay tuned gorge fans.

Big George is headed to Canada!

Hi everyone,

I had another weigh in at the doctor's yesterday and I am happy to report that I have crossed the double-digit threshold. I am a chubby 10 lbs and 9 oz!

Today is also the day that Mom, Dad and I leave on our summer trip to Canada. I am very excited to meet all the people who Mom and Dad have told me about. By this time next week I will be swimming in the lake! See you soon.

Happy Canada Day!

Today is my first Canada day! Apparently this is the day that Canadians (did you know I am Canadian?) celebrate the confederation of Nova Scotia, New Brunswick and Upper and Lower Canada. I am excited to be visiting Canada next week. I've never been, but Mom and Dad have told me all about it.

I had a very busy weekend. On Saturday I had some trouble with my pants. Last evening Mom and Dad and I went for another stroller walk (I love that thing! I can't imagine why I used to cry when they put me in it) in the rain. Mom and Dad got pretty wet, but I stayed warm and dry in my Chariot Carrier Cougar 1.

Today when I woke up there was a Canadian flag on my co-sleeper. This afternoon we went to Carol and Mark's house to meet their new puppy, Spaceman Spiff. At first he was sleeping and I was awake, but then I fell asleep while Spiff was awake. While I was sleeping he licked my face. I really like puppies and I am looking forward to meeting Sydney and Gus in a few weeks.
