I've learned that a lot of the best stuff starts with the letter 'B' (baby, bottle, bouncer, baby bjorn) and the Bumbo is no exception. Sitting up straight and looking around is seriously one of my favourite things to do. Now I can do so from the comfort of my very own chair while I watch my parents do my bidding. It's totally great.

Eureka! Another developmental milestone!

Today I finally figured out what these rattle things are for. Did you know that if you pick them up and shake them they make noise? They're a lot of fun. It took me a while to figure out the hand part, but my motor skills are coming along nicely and I can pick up things like it's nobody's business. Today it's rattles, tomorrow it's the piano or a surgeon's scalpel.

Good game!
Competition lasted past 11 and, except for a quick nap in the middle, I was awake for all of it. I even got to roll the dice in Trivial Pursuit but was banned from this after I kept rolling sixes when we needed a one.
Team Deane once again proved unbeatable. Mom and dad were on the same teams both times, and won both games. Mom even came up with the answer to the winning question in Trivial Pursuit. What game was originally named 'Lexico?' The answer? Scrabble.
This weekend, we have a wedding reception to go to. It's also supposed to be hot here, too, with a temperature of around 90. That's about 32 for you Canucks out there. Have a great weekend everyone!

Weird science
I want to be just like my daddy so today I participated in a science experiment at the Infant Cognition Lab in the department of psychology. They're trying to learn if babies my age can understand an object's goals and perceptions. The experiment consisted of me sitting on my dad's lap and watching a box move repeatedly towards one of two objects, and whether I would be surprised when the box changed it's 'mind' and went towards the other object.
I looked around a lot and not always at what I was supposed to be looking at. Dad thought it was hilarious when one of the researchers said "Experiment halted. Subject asleep," when I dozed off.
In other news, I got some more new clothes, this time from my Nana Deane. They're very grown-up and I think I look very handsome in them. I'm wearing some of my new clothes in the picture. You may also notice that I'm asleep in my crib for the first time. Mom and dad want me to start sleeping in my own room over the next couple of months so they're starting to prepare me by playing with me in my crib and letting me take naps there. So far, so good, although you'll never know, I might decide I hate it next time and freak out. You'll just have to stay tuned to find out.
Tonight, we're having some friends over for pizza and a games night. Should be lots of fun. Go Team Deane!

Happy Father's Day!
Today we celebrated my Dad's first Father's Day. My Mom made him delicious pacakes for breakfast and we went for a walk for ice cream in the evening. My Dad dripped lemon sorbet all over my head and down my back so I had a bath when we got home.
Happy Father's day also to my Grampy Pete and Grampa!
Also, birthday wishes to my Grampy Pete and my Great Uncle Bob who share a birthday on June 18th. Happy birthday guys!

Strollin'
I've turned a corner and realized that my stroller isn't so bad. In fact, now I quite enjoy being in there. My dad took me for a bit of a walk down the street and back on the weekend, and I did okay, so last evening when it had cooled down, my parents took me for a long walk around the neighbourhood. I spent the first part of the walk looking around at the sky and the trees, and then I fell asleep for the rest of the walk. Here's a picture of me in my sweet ride, taken last night.

Two-month appointment
I also got some vaccines yesterday. I had to take one by mouth and then I got four shots - two in each leg! I was very brave and while I did cry, I didn't get nearly as hysterical as my parents thought I would get. I ended up with two fluorescent orange bandaids to show for my troubles (see picture.)
I continued to do well once I got home. My parents were expecting fussiness but I slept for several hours, woke up for a little while in the evening, and then went right back to sleep at 11:30 and slept all night again until about 6:45.

So sad
To make things worse, today I have my two-month appointment where I'll be stripped, weighed, measured, poked and prodded. I always hate that. I'm also getting shots, whatever those are, but my parents seem to think I won't like them. My parents will be letting everyone know how my appointment goes later on today or tomorrow.

Wide awake
Maybe I'm not sleeping well because I'm nervous about the game tonight. I was cheering for the Senators on Monday (see photo) and wearing my lucky jersey but unfortunately they didn't succeed. Oh well, it isn't over until it's over, and I'll be cheering extra hard tonight.
I've also posted a photo of me smiling. I've been smiling for a couple of weeks but my parents have been pretty slow with camera and haven't caught one until now. They also think they detected a first laugh last night. Ha, ha, ha.

My weekend
I got a package from Dick and Pauline on Saturday. A new Senators outfit, just in time for the game. I wore it and as I predicted the Senators won. I'll be wearing my lucky outfit for all the games from here on out. Here are some pictures of me watching the game. I'll be cheering my team on again this evening.

Down two and feelin' blue
Thanks to my Grampa, we were able to see Game 2 of the finals on our computer. It was also my first experience with CBC Hockey and with Don Cherry. It was great, but would have been much better had the Senators actually won. I'm not too upset, though... I smell a comeback! I've included some photos of me watching the game and Coach's corner, and hanging out in my parents' bed after the game. I will be cheering on the Senators again this weekend. Go Sens Go!
Mom has added these photos and some other new ones to our photo site. Just scroll to the bottom of the album.
Have a great weekend everyone!
