A bridge too far

Hi Gorgers,

Last weekend my Dad and I had a big day out. We started with a pancake and bacon breakfast at one of our favourite breakfast places and then we did some routine car maintenance (checked the tire pressure...I helped hold the caps!). After that we went for a big hike in Natural Bridge State Park. It was a gruelling uphill march, but at the end we got to see the 'Natural Bridge', a sandstone arch that towers above the Red River Gorge. Along the way we found all kinds of cool caves, sandstone rock features, spider webs and trees that I could sit on and stand up in. It was only 2 miles round trip, but for me and my still developing legs and foot morphology that is at least the equivalent of 20 regular miles. We took lots of breaks to check out the local scenery and Dad didn't carry me once. After this I think Mt. Kenya should be no problem.

Happy Birthday Taleigh!!!

I would like to wish a very special happy birthday to my one and only cousin, Taleigh, who turned 2 yesterday. Here are some pictures of she and I hamming it up at Nana and Grampy Pete`s and at the cottage this summer. I hope your birthday was great and I hope you enjoyed the present I sent as much as I enjoy mine!

All Hallows Eve 2009

Hello Gorgers,

Halloween (my favourite holiday) is fast approaching so it is time to unveil this year's costume. Here is a quick recap of my first two Halloweens.

Year 1 - Mom and Dad got me this sweet Gorilla costume. Dad took a lot of heat because people said he was projecting his own costume choices on me, but I liked it anyway. I wasn`t very mobile in it, but that was ok becuase I wasn`t very mobile out of it either back then.

Last year I understood the Halloween concept a little more clearly (at least I knew that candy was involved), yet my folks still got to pick my costume. The elephant costume they chose was cute and I liked it, I just didn`t like the head peice so much. All the same, my Dad had fun with photoshop at my expense.

This year was the first year that I got to pick my own costume, and while my parents made a number of suggestions (fireman, astronaut, that guy from A Clockwork Orange) in the end I chose to be a monkey. Many of you will want to think my Dad had some hand in this, but I came up with monkey all on my own and I stuck with it the dozen or so times they asked me what I wanted to be. Here are the pics. I hope you like them. I think this one will net me a biig candy pay off.

Happy Halloween gorgers!

New Stuff

Hello Gorgers,

So much has happened during my six month sebatical that I hardly know where to begin. Some events during that time, however, warrant special mention. So here goes.

I guess one of the biggest changes has been that Mommy, Daddy and I have moved to a new house. I like it. I have my own room (not that I didn't before, but this oneis nicer) and better yet I now sleep in a big boy bed. No more cribs for me. Here is a picture of us at the new place and a few of me clowning around in the front yard.

Here's one of me in my big boy bed. No more jail-like cribs for me. I'm on the straight and narrow now, although I do plan frequent escapes from the bedroom during nap time.

Perhaps the biggest news is that it now looks like I'm going to be a big brother! Mom and Dad dropped it on me a while back that some new kid was coming to live with us (I guess that's where my crib went) and they haven't let up since so I guess this is really happening. Mom and Dad are both really excited and I guess I'm even getting a bit excited at the prospect of having someone around to play with, or to at least do my bidding. The new baby is going to be a boy and he should be here by Halloween. He better not interfere with my candy getting potential.

That's all for now gorgers. I'll keep you posted.

I'M BACK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Did you miss me? I am sorry for my prolonged absence gorgers, but things have been a bit crazy lately. When you last heard from me I was just turning 2 and now I am just over 2 and 1/2! That's like 3 years in dog years. Anyway, a lot has happened since then. We moved to a new house and I now have a new room and a I sleep in a big boy bed. I have even started preschool. I don't really know where to begin telling you all about what you missed so I am in the process of compiling some short videos that will explain the goings on that have transpired since last spring. Here is the first of those videos. This one covers the period from late March until early summer. Enjoy! - George

Zooropa

Hi everyone,

Last week my Nana and Grampy Pete came down to Kentucky for a visit. On Thursday my Mom, Dad, Nana and I went to the Cincinatti zoo. Dad said it was for my birthday (which was the next day), but I really think he wanted to see what primates were circling the drain. All the same, we had lots of fun and I have since added 'Zoo' to my ever expanding vocabulary. Here is the photo evidence of all the fun we had.

Ice storm photos from the vault

Hi folks,

Back during the ice storm in February my Mom and I made the trip up to Nana and Grampy Pete's house to enjoy their indoor heat and electricity. Here are some pictures from our visit, including several with my favourite cousin, Taleigh. I wasn't thrilled with her repeated attempts to kiss me, but I had a fun time playing with her and visiting the rest of the family. Grampy Pete even took me to lunch (I ad ketchup!) and to meet the gang at Home Depot.
