Once more up the mountain

Hey gorgers,

Nana and Grampy Pete have been visiting for the last week and, while we have done lots of neat stuff, I couldn't let them leave without tackling the Natural Bridge trail with me. Loyal gorgers will have seen the photo evidence of my previous summits, but as Sir Edmund Hillary reportedly said, "The true measure of a man is not that he conquered the mountain, but rather the third or fourth time he conquers said mountain." Anyway, if you look closely you can tell I'm getting better at this mountaineering stuff.

Happy Birthday Mom!

I may be a bit late....22 days to be precise...but better late than never! Mom had another birthday (supposedly her 22nd). We ate, we drank and then we ate some more. A good time was had by all. Here is a short video of your's truly singing the happy birthday song and then drinking ice cream from a bowl. That's how I roll on birthdays.

Oscar woke up!

Don't throw the baby out with the bathwater

Hi gorgers, My baby brother Oscar has been home with us for several weeks now and recently he got to experience his first bathtime. Here are some pictures and a short video of the event. He didn't much care for it (who does really?) and even though I tried to cheer him up with one of my dinosaurs he wasn't that impressed. Maybe baths are an acquired taste. - George

Mountain Men

Tally Ho Gorgers,

Recently my Dad, Grandpa and I tackled the Natural Bridge state park climb. It was a tough slog and I wasn't really motivated in the beginning (rather I was motivated to be carried up the hill rather than hike under my own steam) but after a few brief setbacks we were on our way and I am happy to report that we made it to the top. This is the second time I have reached the summit of the Natural Bridge. Anyway, here is the photo evidence. There aren't a lot of pictures of the way up (group moral was at a low point during the ascent), but you know what they say, it isn't about all the little moments leading to the summit, it's just about the summit itself. Luckily all the moments leading from the summit to the parking lot aren't all that important either because they were even less pretty than the ones on the way up. No worries though, I'm sure my next trip up to the Natural Bridge will be smooth sailing. Third time is the charm!

All Hallow's Eve

Trick or Treat Gorgers!

My third Halloween came and went, although the candy remains (but I'm working on that too). This year I enlisted not one, but two partners in crime. Grandpa Al and Aunt Meredith trick or treated right along with me and together we went as a monkey (one named George to be sure, but not actually that Curious George guy...I went as my own character creation, George 008, International simian of mystery), the man in the yellow hat and a banana. Aunt Meredith said she had 'a peel', and while that may be true, I question whether she actually possesses a functioning sense of humour. Together we set out into the night to offer unsuspecting home owner's the option of either a 'trick' or a 'treat' and lucky for them they all coughed up the loot because my wing man and banana had some dirty tricks up our sleeves/peel. Here are some pictures of the night. My sugar high is still with me and if I ration my candy just right I can keep it going all the way to Christmas and candy cane season. Stay spooky gorgers. George 008 out.
